Russia-wanted suspect found dead in Ukraine.

MOSCOW, October 7 (Itar-Tass) -- Ukrainian police confirmed the death
of Alexei Korshunov who was wanted in Russia on charges of killing Moscow
City Court judge Eduard Chuvashov, anti-Nazi activist Ivan Khutorsky,
lawyer Stanislav Markelov, and journalist Anastasia Baburova.
"I spoke with Ukrainian policemen who searched for Korshunov and they
confirmed his death. Korshunov was identified by nationalistic tattoos in
the form of Swastika," Baburova's lawyer Vladimir Zherebenkov told Tass on
Thursday.
He quoted Ukrainian policemen as saying Korshunov was killed in the
city of Zaporozhye by an accidental explosion of a grenade which he
carried with him.
"He always carried a grenade with him as he did not plan to surrender
to police as he knew he would be sentenced for life for the killings," the
lawyer said.
"While jogging he dropped the bag with a grenade which exploded," he
added.
Zherebenkov said Ukrainian police rejected a possibility Korshunov was
preparing a terrorist act with the grenade.
"It was an accidental explosion," he said adding three guns and
cartridges were found during a search in Korshunov's apartment.
Korshunov was arrested in absentia by a Moscow district court and
placed on the international wanted list.
