Int'l conference on railways safety to open in St Petersburg.
St PETERSBURG, October 11 (Itar-Tass) - Implementation of a program of
business processes digitalization and management of railway
infrastructures is the focal point of the 16th International Conference
Infortrans'2011 that opens here Tuesday.
It has brought together the representatives of ten countries.
Officials from federal ministries and government departments, railway
executives, members of both houses of Russian parliament, executives of
railway corporations of the CIS and Baltic countries, and representatives
of non-CIS countries have been invited to participate.
Also taking part are the experts from companies developing the
information systems for railways and other means of transport.
Transport universities and colleges have delegated their lecturers,
researchers and students to the conference.
An exhibition of achievements in the field of railway transportation
will be held in parallel with it. The exhibitors will showcase novel
information technologies, the systems for controlling and dispatching the
passenger and cargo traffic, and the IT solutions for ensuring the safety
of transportation.
