Drawing of lots for Euro-2012 play-offs to be held Thurs.


GENEVA, October 12 (Itar-Tass) - The national soccer teams of Germany,
Russia, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Greece, Britain, Denmark, Spain,
as well as Sweden have qualified for the 2012 European soccer championship
finals. The first nine teams emerged victorious in their groups while the
Swedish sportsmen proved the best among teams placing second in the groups.
It must be pointed out that the teams of Germany, Italy, the
Netherlands, Britain, and Spain secured their participation in the
Euro-2012 finals earlier than planned.
Turkey, Ireland, Estonia, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Croatia, Montenegro,
Portugal, and the Czech Republic will participate in play-offs.
The drawing of lots for play-offs is to be held on Thursday, October
13, whereas play-off matches proper are scheduled for November 11 or 12,
and for November 15. The drawing of lots for matches in the championship
finals is to be held in Kiev on Dec 2.
