Russia to develop economic ties with S Korea
SEOUL, October 10 (Itar-Tass) -- Participants in the cultural-business
mission of St. Petersburg, who are staying in South Korea, discussed with
the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Inchon issues
of further development of the two cities' business cooperation.
During the meeting, vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (CCI) of St. Petersburg Anton Savoshchev touched upon two main
issues. One of them is connected with Russia's forthcoming participation
in the world specialised exhibition Expo-2012 which will held in the South
Korean city of Yeosu situated in Japan's south-west next year. The St.
Petersburg CCI intends, according to him, to send a business delegation to
participate in this event. The work in this direction is underway already,
Savoshchev said.
"We began preparations now, in particular the collection of
information on this most representative in the world exhibition Expo-2012.
Apart from the programme of work in Yeosu, we plan our delegation's visit
to Seoul, as well as try to agree with Pusan, Taegu and Inchon on the
holding of business meetings and conferences, and making of visits to
enterprises to establish business cooperation," Anton Savoshchev told
ITAR-TASS.
The second project, according to him, is educational and envisages a
bilateral exchange of managers.
"We consider it to be important and useful since, in its essence, it
brings the practical benefit to Russian enterprises. It is very important
that such a programme works as a whole, we wanted to include in it South
Korea and got the consent and request to join this work from the St.
Petersburg Interregional Resource Centre which is in charge of such
projects. In other words, upon the completion of the talks with the South
Korean side specialists of St. Petersburg will be able to visit
enterprises in South Korea, pass a probation and carry out corresponding
work, as a result of which we get very important experience," he stressed.
The St. Petersburg CCI touched upon similar issues at the meetings
with colleagues in the port city of Pusan and industrial Taegu held during
the tour of the country.
