Seoul shares down 0.31 pct in late-morning trade

SEOUL (Yonhap) - South Korean stocks traded 0.31 percent lower late Friday morning as investors took a breather after a six-session rally, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) slipped 5.57 points to 1,817.53 as of 11:20 a.m.
Blue-chip exporters mostly lost ground, with Samsung Electronics losing 1.01 percent. Smaller LG Electronics also slumped 2.88 percent after Moody's Investors Service cut its outlook on the company to negative from stable on Thursday.
In contrast, NHN, the operator of South Korea's most-visited web portal, jumped 4.35 percent on views it will benefit from mobile advertisement growth.
The local currency was changing hands at 1,162.3 won to the greenback as of 11:20 a.m., down 6.4 won from Thursday's close.
