Vladivostok and Inchon to establish twin relations.

INCHON (South Korea), October 14 (Itar-Tass) -- The Russian city of
Vladivostok and the South Korean port city of Inchon have signed here on
Friday a document on the two cities' intention to establish twin relations
and conclude a corresponding agreement.
"The signing of such an agreement on twin ties will become the outcome
of planned work carried out carried out by Vladivostok on forming friendly
relations with South Korea. The city of Inchon is attractive by its
closeness to our region, we have very many things in common. We are united
by historical events of the beginning of the last century. After the
battle of the cruiser Varyag and the cannon boat Koreyets with superior
forces of the Japanese squadron, 14 Russian sailors were buried here.
Later on, they were reburied in Vladivostok," first deputy head of the
administration of Vladivostok Alexei Sukhov, who participated in the
signing ceremony of the document, told ITAR-TASS.
Two cities, according to him, are united by "serious economic
interests" as well. As a whole, Vladivostok and Inchon intend to develop
both economic ties and relations in the field of culture and sport, as
well as exchange delegations.
