Sierra Leon President to Visit Iran Soon
TEHRAN (FNA)- Sierra Leon's envoy to Tehran said his country's president is due to pay a visit to Iran in the near future.
The announcement was made during a meeting between the African country's new ambassador to Tehran and Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on Sunday.
During the meeting, Sierra Leon's incoming ambassador submitted a copy of his credentials to Salehi and then the two sides discussed ways of expanding relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Salehi welcomed Sierra Leon's new ambassador to Tehran, and expressed Iran's readiness to utilize all the existing potentials and capacities to bolster the bilateral relations, given the extensive and rich resources and capacities in the African continent, specially in Sierra Leon which, he said, has an industrious nation.
The African diplomat, for his part, underlined Iran's key position in the region, and praised Tehran's capacities and capabilities in all the various fields, of science, technology, industries and agriculture.
He also voiced his country's readiness to make use of the existing capacities and potentials to further consolidate Iran-Sierra Leon relations in different grounds, specially in industrial and agricultural areas.
The envoy renewed the invitation of Sierra Leon's foreign minister to Salehi to visit the African country.
Salehi voiced optimism for taking the trip in due time so as to further promote the relations between Tehran and Freetown.
