Turkish refiner posts TRY921 mn nine-month net profit

KOCAELI (A.A) - Turkish oil refiner Tupras posted a nine-month net profit of 921 million Turkish liras which marked a 36 percent increase over the same period a year earlier. The company nine-month net profit was 676 million TL.  Tupras said its nine-month production was up 8 percent and sales increased 11 percent or 1,835 thousand tons to reach 18 million tons with a rising demand for jet and diesel fuel. The company said it achieved a strong capacity utilization rate at 80.7 percent over a 75.4 percent in 2010   Tupras, Turkey's sole refiner, is Europe's eighth-biggest refiner. 51 percent of the company is owned by Koc Holding.
