AL Decision Complicates Syria’s Status: FM Spokesman

Tehran, Nov 14, IRNA – Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said on Sunday that the recent decision by the Arab League to suspend Syria’s membership will make the situation more complicated. 'Islamic Republic of Iran believes that while avoiding foreign interference in the political developments of the regional countries, potentials of dialogue should also be taken into consideration,' he added. Mehmanparast said that it is necessary that the necessary measures to be taken to make use from the existing potentials of dialogue. “A decision by the Arab League to suspend Syria’s membership in the Arab League concurrent with efforts by some foreign countries to interfere in Syria’s internal affairs is worth contemplation,” he added. Mehmanparast noted that the reform plan by Syrian President Bashar Assad and the Syrian people, as well as confronting foreign interference in Syria’s internal affairs are of prime importance./end
