Baku, 31 July (AzerTAc). Opening ceremony of Junior Kayak-Canoe Sprint World Championship was held in Moscow`s Krylatskoye Sport Centre, press service of Azerbaijan National Federation of Rowing said.

The event brought together deputy Russian minister of youth, sports and tourism Gennady Alyoshin, Deputy Moscow Mayor Sergey Baydakov, First vice-president of International Canoe Federation (ICF) Istvan Vaskuti, ICF Honorable president Ulrich Feldhoff and President of the All-Russian Kayak-Canoe Federation Yevgeny Arkhipov.

Sportsmen of 55 countries will compete in this championship featuring races are in singles, doubles and fours.

Azerbaijan is represented by Rufat Valizade, Andrey Kraytor and Mirnazim Javadov.
