Rural people in Savannakhet to access water supply by 2009
(KPL) More than 800 families in five villages, Phinh district, Savannakhet province will access to water supply system mid-2009.
The construction project of water supply system will launch next October and expects to be completed next year.
The project work is to drill nine artisan wells for producing water supply and serve five villages in the district. The production capacity of 1,820 cubic metres per day which is total worth of US$500,000 of which US$300,000 from UN Habitat, US$100,000 from Savannakhet Water Supply Enterprise Company and US$80,000 from Phinh district and for the rest are a contribution from local people. This is identified as the poorest district that they suffer from safe water resource.
