(KPL) Vientiane Water Supply State Enterprise and Hanoi Mai Dong Company Limited, on 25 September, at the Lane Xang Hotel, jointly signed a cooperation agreement to build the water treatment plant in Vientiane.
The US$ 10 million project, which is expected to build at Ban Dongbang village, Xaythany district was 80% funded by Mai Dong Company and 20 per cent by Vientiane Water Supply Company.
The Dongbang Water Treatment Plant, the fourth project in Vientiane, will be started to construct in early 2009 and is expected to be completed on September 2009.
The project after completion will supply to the nearby urban development with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meter a day.
The construction will take place in three stages and is expected to provide enough clean water for visitors to the SEA Games next year and for distribution to a new industrial zone.
The agreement was signed between Dr. Daophet Bouapha, General Manager of the Vientiane Water Supply Company and Mr. Nguyen Viet Ha, President of the Mai Dong Company.
