Turkey's main opposition leader meets Palestinian president

ANKARA (A.A) - December 21, 2011 - The leader of Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) met on Wednesday with the Palestinian president. Following his meeting with Mahmoud Abbas, CHP chairperson Kemal Kilicdaroglu said his party had backed Turkish government's assistance and support to Palestine, and would continue to do so. Kilicdaroglu said Israeli-Palestinian peace was important for not only Middle East but the entire world, and quoted Abbas as saying that he also favored peace and defended peace everywhere. Abbas is paying a working trip to Ankara.
