Iran's Rahimi Returns Home

Tehran, Jan 31, IRNA – Iran First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi ended his one day official visit to Oman and left Muscat for Tehran on Monday night. Rahimi arrived in Muscat on Monday morning and was welcomed in Muscat international airport by Oman high-ranking officials. Iran Oil Minister Rostam Ghasemi, Minister of Roads and Urban Development Ali Nikzad, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, President Media Adivsor Ali Akbar Javanfekr and President Senior Assistant Mojtaba Samareh Hashemi accompanied Iran first vice president in his visit to Oman. Rahimi in a meeting with Iranians living in Oman said that Iran is committed to resist unreasonable requests of tyrant powers. The first vice president conferred on Monday with Sultan Qaboos of Oman on expansion of mutual relations and on regional developments. In the meeting, the two sides discussed broadening of mutual relations and cooperation in various fields, as well as latest regional and international developments. They also reviewed transit of goods and commodities through Iran to potential markets in Central Asia including Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and East Asian countries. Rahimi attended a press conference in Oman and met Iranian nationals residing in the kingdom. Oman and Iran share close diplomatic, economic, and military ties./end
