Sodexo Laos, KP Group join venture on quality of daily life solutions
VIENTIANE,01.31.2012 (KPL) - The Sodexo Laos PVT Sole limited has signed a Joint-Venture Contract with the KP Group Company to provide quality of daily life solutions.
The contract was signed in Vientiane on 31 January between Senior Vice-President, Sodexo Asia-Pacific, Mr. Laurent Auzanneau and President of KP Group Company Limited, Mr. Khemsath Philaphandeth.
The LP Group is a business-like organization classified at the frontline among the Lao business society and composed of different affiliated companies including, good distribution, automotive, industry, logistic and information technology, under its philosophy “Together for a Bester Tomorrow”, said Mr. Khemsath.
He said the KP Group Company has put into action closely linked to the policy “Give the Best” to the society with the aim of heightening the living standards of the Lao people of all ethics towards modernization and be friendly to environment.
This joint-venture contract commits our two companies to closely pursue the business together in favor of common aim to supply and serve our customers contributing socio-economic development of the Lao PDR along the guideline and policy of the party and government, he added.
KP Group has agreed to acquire a 30% stake in Sodexo Laos. Sodexo is confident the partnership will pave the way for increased business in a country experiencing economic growth in line with its neighbours, due to the government expanding fiscal and monetary reform, promoting private enterprise and foreign investment and strengthening banking, said Mr. Laurent Auzanneau.
He said the Sodexo will be targeting the significant presence of the mining and hydro-electric industry that rely on remote site expertise, as well as the education and government markets.
Sodexo has provided a servicing healthcare, corporate, education and government sectors.
A local partner will facilitate access to these markets and provide surety that Sodexo has local interests in mind. Sodexo has already demonstrated this intent through localisation of services (laundry and housekeeping) and produce supply at the Sepon mine in Eastern Laos.
Sodexo Laos began operations in May 2005 with the successful entry into remote Site Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) service. Sodexo’s leadership in the global remote sites market allowed us to initially focus on perfecting our services for men and women working on remote sites in Laos.
