RI To Host Int'l Natural Disaster Conference

Jakarta, Feb 2 (ANTARA) - Indonesia is to host a ministerial conference to reduce the impact of natural disasters in Asia, an official said. "The conference will be held October 2012 in Yogyakarta and will be attended by ministers of Asian countries," Chairman of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) Samsul Maarif said here on Thursday. He said the conference would be on the strengthening of local human resources to reduce the impact of natural disasters. Samsul added the conference was expected to exchange experiences between the participants.
