Egypt Calls For Expansion Of Co-op With Iran

Tehran, Feb 6, IRNA - Head of Egypt interest section in Tehran Alaeddin Hassan Youssef met on Monday with Hossein Sheikholeslam, international adviser to Iranian Majlis Speaker, voiced his country’s readiness for expansion of friendly cooperation with Iran.
In the meeting, Alaeddin Hassan Youssef outlined his country’s developments and said the future of Egypt is very bright.
Sheikholeslam, for his part, congratulated the Egyptian envoy on successful parliamentary elections in Egypt and said Egyptian revolution has uphold the status and role of the country in regional and international equations.
Highlighting the significant role of parliaments, he hoped to witness consolidation of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries as well as expansion of economic, cultural and political relations and cooperation between the two sides.
Iran’s Majlis is ready to help broaden parliamentary cooperation between the two sides, he said.
Popular uprisings in region have weakened and isolated the Zionist regime, he said.
Referring to Syria, Sheikholeslam said the West is trying to weaken the resistance movement in the region in order to prevent isolation of Zionist occupiers.
