Doha 2020 Logo and Slogan to be Unveiled at Family Fun Day
Doha, February 08 (QNA) - The logo and slogan of the Doha 2020 will be unveiled during a press conference at the Museum of Islamic Art Park next Friday.
The official Doha 2020 bid website will also be launched that day.
Families taking part in the 5th Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) Wheels n Heels Family Fun Day on February 10 will be the first people in the world to see the official logo of the Doha 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games bid.
In front of Wheels n Heels 2012 participants, the Doha 2020 Bid Team will unveil the logo chosen to spearhead Qatar s efforts to bring the world s biggest sporting event to the Arab World for the first time in history.
CEO of Doha 2020 Noora al-Mannai said: "The unveil of our bid logo and slogan and the launch of the new website are all important building blocks in our bid to host the first ever Olympic and Paralympic Games in the Arab world."
"Our Applicant File is also now in the very final stages of production. We are proud of its content and the hosting plans and legacy vision it contains, and look forward to making its contents public next month after it is submitted to the IOC", she said, adding "our bid seeks to use the Olympics as a nationwide effort to encourage our people to be active, healthy and undefeated by hosting the world's most unifying of events".
"By unveiling our logo and slogan for Doha 2020 at the 5th annual Wheels n Heels, we are demonstrating that improved well-being involves engagement, participation and supporting the local community to generate heroes through the inspiration that only sport can bring," she noted.
Before the Doha 2020 logo and slogan are unveiled, an Olympic sport whose popularity is already established in Qatar will thrill the Wheels n Heels crowds. Now in its 11th year the Tour of Qatar, organized by the Qatar Cycling Federation (QCF), comes to an exciting conclusion as the world s top road cyclists race to the finish along the Doha Corniche at 4pm.
