Aspire Zone Unites Community for Qatar National Sports Day

Doha, February 12 (QNA) - Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) is bringing together organizations in Qatar with the common goal of celebrating the first National Sports Day (NSD) on February 14. To mark the event, AZF is facilitating a number of activities, hosted by both the Foundation as well as other sports and non-sports entities, the Foundation said in a media statement. The Aspire Zone precinct will be alive with many organizations including, Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee, Doha 2020 Olympic bid, Qatar Stars League, Qatar Football Association, Qatar Women s Sport Committee, Ministry of Finance, Al Jazeera Q-Media, Qatar Diabetes Association, Jaidah Group and other groups that use of Aspire Zone's facility to host their NSD events. Commenting on the NSD programme, AZF President, Hilal Al Kuwari said, "AZF is keen to unify the nation through sport and the National Sports Day is a great occasion for private and government sector entities to join hands and achieve their goals together, through collaboration. We believe that together, we can help achieve Qatar's National Vision of 2030." AZF has collaborated with a number of organizations and planned a comprehensive schedule for the community. On its NSD agenda is a Fun Run organized for the staff and families of AZF and RasGas besides playing host to various sports and fitness activities organized by other institutions. Highlights of the day include 'A Walk to Remember', a 3km walkathon which is open to the community, Aspire Active programmes for their members include Zumba, Multi Skill Development Center activities and Football Skills Development Centers tournament. "We see tremendous enthusiasm among the local and regional populations for sports. As Middle East's premier sports city, AZF is working to harness the power of sport in making social progress. A lot of work has already been done. Much work remains. By embracing sport as a tool for progress and by collaborative initiatives, we can all contribute to the overall social development," added Al Kuwari. Through Aspire Zone's versatility of award-winning stadia and venues, and the overall objective of bringing different people together under one all-encompassing umbrella for the momentous day, Aspire is set to be the perfect place to celebrate.
