Thai PM leaves for Malaysia

BANGKOK, February 20 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinarwatra is paying a one-day official visit to Malaysia Monday to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation. Speaking to journalists at Thailand's main Suvarnabhumi Airport prior to her departure for the neighbouring country, Yingluck said she would discuss bilateral relations between Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok with Malaysian leaders, covering border trade, cooperative frameworks and solutions to violent unrest in Thailand's insurgency-plagued deep South. Yingluck acknowledged that, if possible, she would also raise a case concerning an Iranian man who was suspected to have involved in a spate of bomb blasts in Bangkok on February 14 and has been detained in Malaysia for a discussion with Malaysian authorities.
