MyCeb Wins Bid To Host 49 Conferences

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 20 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) last year secured the bid to host 49 conventions between 2012 and 2019 which would generate RM382 million (US$126 million) in economic impact for Malaysia. Chief executive officer Zulkefli Sharif said the success reinforced Malaysia's position as Asia's business events hub and was in tandem with the bureau's slogan. Three significant conventions will be held during the eight-year duration namely the world's largest meeting of Chinese finance and insurance professionals, the International Dragon Award Annual Conference and Women Deliver Conference, all to be held next year, it said in a statement Monday. "We view these positive results as very promising for Malaysia," he said, adding that the efforts would continue to progressively realise the bureau's mission to improve Malaysia's rankings as an international meeting destination. -- BERNAMA
