M'sian King Grants Audience To Thai PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 20 (Bernama) -- Malaysian King Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Monday granted an audience to visiting Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and her delegation at the Istana Negara (National Palace). Also present were the Queen Tuanku Hajah Haminah, Deputy Foreign Minister Richard Riot and Malaysian Ambassador to Thailand Nazirah Hussain. Yingluck was accompanied by, among others, Thai Defence Minister Sukumpol Sawanatat and senior government officials. Yingluck is on her maiden visit to the country after assuming the office of prime minister in August last year. She was scheduled to visit Malaysia in October last year but postponed the trip due to the massive floods in Thailand. Earlier, Yingluck was accorded an official welcome and met Prime Minister Najib Razak at a closed-door meeting in Putrajaya. Tonight, she will attend a dinner hosted by Najib and his wife, Rosmah Mansor, at Seri Perdana, the prime minister's official residence, in Putrajaya. -- BERNAMA
