Ihsanoglu Highly Appreciates QatarI Support for Palestinians' Rights and Al-Quds

Doha, February 22 (QNA) - The OIC Secretary-General Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu expressed deep appreciation to the State of Qatar for hosting and sponsoring the International Conference on support of Al Quds (Jerusalem), scheduled to begin next Sunday in Doha, praising in this regard the tireless efforts Qatar has been playing for supporting the Palestinians' inalienable rights, as well as its role for achieving the Palestinian reconciliation. In an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on this occasion on Wednesdy, Prof. Ihsanoglu, praised the Qatari financial support to the development projects in the Holy City of Al Quds and the Palestinian territories in general . "This certainly shows the Qatari keenness to continue to support the cause of Palestine and Al Quds and reflects a serious commitment to mobilize and coordinate positions and international efforts to defend the holy city, and expose the Israeli Judaization policy. The Organization of Islamic cooperation( OIC) secretary general has cautioned that the city of al quds is currently living dark days because of the policy of Judaization and the continuous Israeli violations and crimes against the rights of Palestinians, their land, sanctities and rights through the israeli settlement expansion policies, land confiscation, falsification of facts, the excavations underway under Al-Aqsa Mosque, the expulsion of Jerusalemites, in order to isolate the city from its Palestinian environment. He stressed that the OIC considers this aggressive Israeli policies as defying the international community and flagrantly violating the international agreements , conventions and the UN relevant resolutions . The OIC Secretary General underlined the need to preserve the Arab and Islamic character of al quds, the capital of the State of Palestine, noting however that the Middle East can not enjoy peace, security and stability without the establishment of the independent State of Palestine and al quds as its capital.
