Thai North hit by mild earthquake

CHIANG RAI, March 7 (TNA) - A 2.2-magnitude mild earthquake hit Thailand's northern Chiang Rai province early Wednesday morning, but there have been no reports of any casualty or damage. The Meteorological Department reported that the mild tremor struck Chiang Rai's Wiang Pa Pao district at 1:18am, with its epicentre located 19.34 degrees latitude and 99.47 degrees longitude. Chiang Rai is home to the Mae Ta and Mae Chan active fault lines, located some 800 kilometres north of Bangkok. (TNA)
