Bangkok organizes seminar on ASEAN ICT Master Plan 2015

BANGKOK, March 9 (TNA) - The Thai Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) organized a seminar in Bangkok on Friday to publicize an ICT master plan of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for proper understanding among the public and parties concerned. Speaking at the opening of the seminar, entitled ASEAN ICT Master Plan 2015, Areewan Haorangsi, the ministry's acting advisor on international affairs, said that the Thai ICT Ministry is working on Thailand's ICT master plan, as part of the regional ICT master plan, in preparation for the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by 2015. According to the ministerial advisor, the Thai ICT master plan covers the development of advance national ICT and disaster warning systems, as well as cooperation with other ASEAN member countries on statistical sharing.
