200 Taxis Wrapped And Branded With Malaysian Images Stand Out At ITB 2012 In Berlin

KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 (Bernama) -- A campaign involving 200 taxis wrapped and branded with Malaysian images, was launched at the world's biggest travel trade exhibition, the International Tourism Bourse (ITB), in Berlin Thursday. The eye-catching images, showing sunny beach paradise and Orang Utans in a stunning jungle setting with the rafflesia - the largest flower in the world, gave Malaysia an opportunity to stand out from the more than 188 countries participating in the exhibition. Tourism Minister Dr Ng Yen Yen led a delegation of 57 organisations to the taxi campaign that was launched on Thursday morning in front of the Brandenburg Gate. A statement issued by Tourism Malaysia today said ITB that goes on until Sunday (March 11) was an ideal platform to showcase Malaysia to the public as well as to the travel trade. Visitors to the German capital will get a feeling of Malaysian's tourism industry for a month from the exciting branding campaign. Malaysia received 24.7 million visitors in 2011 and Germany is an important source market for Malaysia with 124,670 visitors in 2011 and for this year, a number of strategic marketing campaigns are set to further establish Malaysia as a destination for German tourists. Topics like nature, eco-tourism, cultural and sustainable tourism are highlights of Malaysian tourism. -- BERNAMA
