Thai PM says visit to Japan satisfactory
BANGKOK, March 10 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said Saturday that her four-day official visit to Japan, from March 6-10, concluded satisfactorily, as the Tokyo government has agreed to cooperate with her government in every field.
Speaking to journalists at Thailand's main Suvarnabhumi International Airport upon her arrival in Bangkok before dawn, after her trip to Japan aimed at wooing Japanese business operators to invest in Thailand, Yingluck said that the Japanese government has pledged to offer financial grants and technical assistance and to help build elevated roads at local industrial sites to protect factories from floods.
Yingluck acknowledged that the Japanese business operators appeared to be satisfied with the Thai government’s plans to cope with floods in the future, after a massive flooding in Thailand late last year.
Regarding her talks with Japanese automobile manufacturers, the Pheu Thai premier revealed that they appeared to be satisfied as well and reiterated that they would continue investing and using Thailand as their production base.
The Thai premier said that she was happy to have received the positive response from the Japanese investors during her visit to Japan. (TNA)
