West’s main mistake is to support ‘dead’ Zionist regime: Ahmadinejad

KARAJ, Alborz Province, March 12 (MNA) – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that certain Western countries’ main mistake is to provide support to the “dead” Zionist regime.
Ahmadinejad made the remarks on Sunday in an address to a large number of people from all walks of life in the city of Karaj, Alborz Province, which is located in the northwest of the capital city of Tehran.
In his speech, Ahmadinejad stated that the Zionists martyr the Palestinian people, but “the Zionist regime is a dead entity which cannot be brought back to life through such efforts.”
Ahmadinejad was referring to the fact that a number of Palestinians were killed in a series of Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip on Friday and Saturday.
The Iranian president addressed the West, saying, “You have made investments and are losing face for the sake of a bunch of criminals and are not aware that the Zionist regime is like a rotten tree that you have invested in, but you will lose face.”
He added, “Do not assume that you can strengthen your foothold now that a number of rulers in our region have aligned themselves with you, because they do not have any position among their people.”
“If freedom is given to the people of these (regional) countries, they will oust their rulers within a day,” Ahmadinejad stated.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he commented on the attitude that the hegemonistic powers have adopted toward the Islamic Republic and said, “They speak about the Iranian nation impolitely and arrogantly and then say, ‘All options are on the table.’ Let them (the options) remain on the table until they decay and you also decay.”
All the world’s people have gotten fed up with the domineering powers and the unjust system prevailing in the world should be reformed, he added.
Unemployment in Iran to be rooted out by 2013
In his speech, Ahmadinejad also spoke about the unemployment rate in the country, saying that his administration will “root out” unemployment by 2013, when his term in office ends.
