KRC:Thailand's post-flood production and exports to keep rebounding
BANGKOK, March 29 (TNA) - The Kasikorn Research Centre (KRC) has projected that Thailand's post-flood production and exports should continue rebounding from this month until, at least, the end of the second quarter this year, witnessed by a growth momentum in both the country's production and export sectors.
The leading private think tank said in a latest projection released on Thursday that Thailand's overall production rebounded better than expected in February 2012, by some 9 per cent from a month earlier, in the wake of the country's massive flooding late last year, particularly in the local automobile production sector.
The Bangkok-based research firm acknowledged that post-flood Thai exports also started to rebound, by 0.9 per cent, last month when positive signs were also seen for the US economic recovery, namely more imports of Thai industrial goods.
The KRC, therefore, maintained that Thailand's recovering production and exports should continue until, at least, the second quarter of this year, cautioning, however, that Thai exports could face such major risk factors as rising world oil prices, the persisting debt crisis in Europe and an economic slowdown in China thereafter.
