SEOUL, Oct. 9 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's largest automaker, was ordered to recall 503 Tuscani compact coupes at home over a defect related to the vehicle's glove box, the government said Thursday.
The compartment fails to lock out in crash scenarios, potentially injuring the
passenger, the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs said in a
statement.
The recall affects cars produced between Nov. 14, 2007 and June 19, 2008,
according to the ministry.
The Tuscani coupe, also known as the Hyundai Tiburon, is being sold under various
names in overseas markets. It was not immediately known whether the recall
affected the same model sold abroad.
