Sanctions cannot deter Iran from nuclear ‘path’, Iranian FM says

TEHRAN, April 3 (MNA) – Iran`s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said sanctions on Iran for its peaceful nucelar program cannot deter the Islamic Republic from its nuclear “path”. “The sanctions may have caused us small problems but we will continue our path,” Salehi told on Monday. On military threats against Iran for its nuclear program, the minister said, “We do not underestimate any enemy, no matter how tiny and lowly they are. The country’s officials - the Supreme Leader, the president, the army, the Sepah and Basij - are completely vigilant. And the nation is prepared to defend the achievements of Islamic Iran.” The West has launched unilateral economic sanctions on Iran’s oil industry. However, Iran’s Oil Minister, Rostam Qasemi, said on Monday that the West’s efforts to curb Iranian oil exports “have been a failure”. “We have seen off what they describe as ‘rigorous sanctions’ against the oil industry,” he said.
