TEHRAN,April 4(MNA) -- Members of the Iranian Children’s Book Council celebrated International Children’s Book Day (ICBD) during a ceremony in Tehran on Monday. Turan Mirhadi, veteran researcher and co-founder of the Children’s Book Council, and secretary of the council Nushafarin Ansari were among the participants who gathered at the venue of the Iranian Children’s Book Council. I ask our friends to accompany their children and let the children make stories for us, she added. The Mexican branch of the IBBY sponsored this year’s celebration, and Mexican artist and author Francisco Hinojosa wrote a message for this occasion. The theme selected for this year’s ICBD was “Once upon a time, there was a story that the whole world told”. Ansari also made a short speech at the ceremony after which Farzaneh Mansuri, the widow of author Nader Ebrahimi, gave a brief talk that included a recitation from his writings about children. A music video reviewing works by Iranian children’s book illustrator Mohammad-Ali Bani-Asadi, who was nominated for the 2012 Hans Christian Andersen Awards, was also screened for the participants.
