Filmmaker searching for actor to play former Iranian monarch

TEHRAN,April 9(MNA) -- Iranian filmmaker Mohammadreza Varzi is currently in search of an actor to play former Iranian monarch Mohammad Reza Pahlavi in his serial project “The Puzzle of the Shah”. He is trying to find an actor who bears a striking resemblance to Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, producer Ali Ladoni told on Saturday. The TV series, which is to be produced in 40 episodes, will depict the life of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi from childhood until his departure from Iran in January 1979. The screenplay has been written by Farid Mostafavi and the postproduction stage will be completed in a month, Ladoni said. The TV series will be aired from Channel 1 of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting in 2013. Varzi has previously made the TV series “The Years of Constitution” and “Tabriz in Fog”, both of which depict slices from the history of Iran.
