Gunshots heard from Syrian village near Turkish-Syrian border

HATAY (AA) - April 13, 2012 - Gunshots were heard from a Syrian village near Turkish-Syrian border early on Friday. AA correspondents along Turkish-Syrian border said that clash erupted between opposition forces and Syrian army near the Syrian village of Harabjoz, and they saw four tanks that belonged to the Syrian army near Syria's border with Turkey. Gunshots lasted about an hour, and then ended. People living in Turkey's Uluyol village near its border with Syria contacted their relatives living in Harabjoz, and quoted on them as saying that clash erupted as Syrian soldiers opened fire on a 10-15-member group who were passing through the village to take shelter in Turkey. They also said armed opponents in the same region responded to the fire opened by Syrian soldiers.
