Thai PM Pleased With Warm Welcome In China
CHINA, April 18 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinwatra said Wednesday that she is pleased with positive responses from all levels of Chinese authorities, including the loan of China’s panda cub, Ling Ping, to Thailand which is now extended for three years from her earlier return schedule next year.
Yingluck, whose official visit to China is scheduled for April 17-19, told journalists in Beijing Wednesday that she has received a warm welcome from high-ranking Chinese authorities and leading business persons.
Yingluck also met her Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao, during which the two Thai and Chinese premiers agreed to promote bilateral cooperation on trade, investment, tourism, culture, education and entertainment and to boost relations among leaders, business operators and citizens of both countries.
Yingluck also said that Chinese investors were not concerned over flooding in Thailand late last year, but they inquired about promising business sectors in the Thai economy and she, therefore, recommended projects which promote and support sustainable development.
The Thai prime minister is scheduled to meet Chinese President Hu Jintao Wednesday evening, during which, she acknowledged, she will raise Hu's great vision, as well as sound bilateral relations and comprehensive cooperation between Beijing and Bangkok. (TNA)
