Iran protests against Jordanian official’s remarks on Abu Musa Island

TEHRAN,April 19(MNA) – The Iranian Embassy in Amman sent a note to the Jordanian Foreign Ministry to protest against recent remarks made by the country’s ministry spokesman, in which he had said that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s recent visit to the Iranian island of Abu Musa had undermined diplomatic efforts to find a peaceful solution to the dispute over sovereignty of the island. The Iranian Embassy also said that the Islamic Republic expects officials of the friendly Arab country not to make remarks which question Iran’s sovereignty.
