Thailand's opposition leader accused of proxy voting
BANGKOK, April 27 (TNA) - A ruling Pheu Thai Party MP, Pracha Prasopdee has filed a petition with House Speaker Somsak Kiatsuranont, who is also Thai Parliament President, against Thailand's opposition leader Abhisit Vejjajiva, who is a former Thai premier and the leader of the Democrat Party, for allegedly having another Democrat to vote on his behalf during a House session on March 14.
The Pheu Thai MP claimed evidence to support his complaint, including photos taken from a mobile phone, video footage obtained from Thai Parliament’s audio-visual control room and minutes of the March 14 House session.
The Pheu Thai MP urged Abhisit to explain, saying he would apologise if the opposition leader could prove he was wrong. (TNA)
