Venture Further Out Of Your Comfort Zone, Says M'sian PM's Wife

IPOH (Perak, Malaysia), April 30 (Bernama) -- The prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor (thirteenth from right) has urged women in the country to embark on a mindset change and be prepared to venture further out of their comfort zone to tackle new challenges either at the local or global arena. She also said women in the country should be proud and grateful because they are enjoying a greater gender equality, allowing them to reach a respectable position compared to women in other countries. Speaking at the Perak Women Awards Night here Sunday, Rosmah said lack of gender restrictions had allowed Malaysian women to seize opportunities along with men in terms of education, employment, entrepreneurship, politics and other fields. She said the government continued to play an important role in achieving a wider gender equality by providing a conducive environment for women to achieve success either at the national or international level. She also said that women should equipped themselves with knowledge and skills to make them more competitive. At the event, Rosmah presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to the country's first dermatologist Datuk Dr Madhuri Majumder (eleventh from left). Twenty-seven other women received the Inspirational Women Award, Visionary Women Award, and Perak Women Ambassador Award in various fields. (photoBERNAMA) MALAYSIA
