Thai PM welcomes visiting SKorean FM

BANGKOK, May 1 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra welcomed visiting South Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Kim Sung-hwan at Bangkok's Parliament building Tuesday. Kim and Yingluck then discussed sound bilateral relations and potential strategic partnership between South Korea and Thailand, as well as the possibility of establishing a Thai-South Korean trade committee. The visiting South Korean minister said he expects that both Seoul and Bangkok will also expand bilateral cooperation in other areas, including security. The Thai prime minister also inquired the South Korean minister, who is visiting Thailand and Myanmar from April 30-May 3, about South Korea's water management expertise. The South Korean Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade is scheduled to fly to neighbouring Myanmar later Tuesday. (TNA)
