Metropolitan museum displaying works by Iranian artists

TEHRAN,May 1(MNA) -- Seven works created by three generation of Iranian artists are currently on display during an exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Entitled “Contemporary Iranian Art from the Permanent Collection”, the showcase will run until September 3 at the museum. “Flight of the Dolphin” by Monir Shahrudi Farmanfarmaian, “Poet Turning into Heech” by Parviz Tanavoli, “Interrogation” by Ali Banisadr and several other works are on display at the show. Despite their diverse modes of expression, these artworks reflect an intrinsic connection with Iran and address issues of identity, nostalgia, and cultural pride.
