Iran calls for parliamentary cooperation with China, Afghanistan

TEHRAN,May 2(MNA) – In separate meetings with Chinese and Afghan parliamentary delegations on Tuesday, Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said that Iran is keen to enhance parliamentary cooperation in various areas with the countries. The meetings were held on the sidelines of the second meeting of the General Assembly of the Forum of Asia-Pacific Parliamentarians for Education, which opened in Tehran on Monday and closed on Tuesday. Larijani also emphasized the importance of parliaments’ role in promoting public education and removing cultural and educational inequalities in societies and said that the Iranian parliament is keen to enhance cooperation with Beijing and Kabul in this regard. He expressed satisfaction with the current level of ties with China and Afghanistan and said that all the capacities should be utilized to cement ties in various spheres.
