Supreme Leader grants Malekzadeh clemency: Tehran prosecutor general

TEHRAN, May 7 (MNA) – The Tehran Prosecutor General Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi announced on Sunday that the Supreme Leader has granted clemency to Mohammad Sharif Malekzadeh, who was recently appointed as a presidential advisor. In June 2011, Malekzadeh was arrested on corruption charges. Before his arrest, Malekzadeh was appointed as deputy foreign minister for administrative and financial affairs, a move which provoked a storm of criticism from a number of lawmakers.
