Artworks competing at World Awakening Awards on display at Tehran museum

TEHRAN,May 15(MNA)--Artworks contending for the World Awakening Awards were put on display in an exhibition at the Imam Ali Museum of Arts in Tehran on Sunday evening. A total of 199 cartoons, 147 poster, and 104 photos by artists from 55 countries have been showcased at the exhibit. The awards will be given at the closing ceremony on June 11. Six winners will be announced for each category. First winner of each category will receive €10,000 and five others, each one, will be awarded €2500. Alexander Faldin from Russia, Yuji Sato from Japan and Ebrahim Haqiqi, Mostafa Asadollahi, and Mostafa Gudarzi from Iran are the members of the jury for the poster section. Michel Setboun from France, Shahidul Alam from Bangladesh, Abbas Mirhashemi, Farzad Hashemi, and Ebrahim Hatamikia are on the panel for the photo section. The jury of the cartoon section includes Kambiz Derambakhsh, Bahram Azimi, Masud Ziaii from Iran and Márcio Leite from Brazil. Works of Turkish cartoonist Hicabi Demirci and Finnish graphic designer Pekka Loiri have also been put on show in the non-competition section.
