7 countries to host Iran’s resistance and revolution filmfest

TEHRAN,May 15(MNA) -- Iran’s Resistance, Revolution and Sacred Defense International Film Festival will be held simultaneously in Tehran and seven foreign cities in September and October, the organizers announced on Sunday. Iran plans to screen the festival’s entries in Helsinki, Istanbul, Beirut, Kabul, Dushanbe, Pyongyang, and Damascus. This year’s festival are scheduled to focus on “Resistance and Islamic Awakening”, “Terrorism and International Zionism”, “Struggle Against the Global Arrogance” and several other themes. Panels of experts will also discuss various subjects during the festival. The Iran-Iraq 1980-1988 war, which is known as sacred defense in Iran, was previously the focus of the festival. But, the organizers renamed the festival in 2010 and the resistance and revolution were added to the highlights of the event.
