Iranian short film “The Sound of Rain” wins award at German festival
TEHRAN,May 15(MNA) -- The short film “The Sound of Rain” was picked as the best film at the Black International Cinema, which was held in Berlin from May 2 to 6.
Directed by Jalal Saedpanah, the film was selected as the best amongst 54 competitors, Saedpanah’s publicist mentioned in a press release on Monday.
The film is about a craftsman who lives alone in a little hut atop one of the city’s roofs. The only one disturbing his peace is a small Mongolian boy who loves him above everything else.
The film which is in Kurdish, grabbed the Golden Egg Prize at the Berlin-Duhok International Film Festival 2012 and was crowned as the Best Short Film in Sulaimaniyah Kurdish Film Festival 2012.
“Human Beings” by Mashallah Mohammadi, “Going...” by Salem Salavati, “Askoo by Mohammad Ali Hashemzehi, “A Good Family” by Amir Hossein Torabi, “An Alley Behind Our House” by Shilan Sadi, “The Tender Moment of Sand” by Farid Mirkhani and six other Iranian movies competed at the event.
