Iran`s Majlis gives the green light to second stage of subsidy reforms

TEHRAN, May 16 (MNA) – The Majlis on Tuesday decided to increase the amount of subsidies to families in cash or in kind, a move which will allow the administration to begin the implementation of the second stage of the subsidy reform plan in the current Iranian calendar year, which started on March 20. The total amount of subsidies paid to families during the previous Iranian calendar year was 400 trillion rials ($32.6 billion), which for the current year has increased to 480 trillion rials ($39.1 billion).
