Iranian lifter Mohammadpour wins gold in World Junior Championships

TEHRAN,May 19(MNA)-- Saeed Mohammadpour claimed a gold medal for the World Junior Weightlifting Championships in Antigua, Guatemala on Thursday. The 94kg weightlifter came first with a total of 393kg after lifting 178kg in snatch and 215kg in clean and jerk. Egor Klimonov from Russia won the silver medal. He lifted 175kg in snatch and 215kg in clean and jerk. He finished in second place with a total of 385kg. Zhassulan Kydrbayev from Kazakhstan got the bronze medal with a total of 363kg after lifting 165kg in snatch and 198kg in clean and jerk.
