Iranian junior weightlifters finish 3rd at Worlds

TEHRAN,May 20(MNA)--Iran finished in third place at the World Junior Weightlifting Championships, which ended on Saturday in Antigua, Guatemala. The Iranian team won two gold medals, four silvers, and three bronze medals for 530 points. China finished in first place with 578 points. The Chinese lifters won 13 gold medals and six silver medals. Russia was the runner-up with six golds, six silvers, and three bronze medals and 557 points. The Iranian team had won the 2011 World Junior Weightlifting Championships held in Penang, Malaysia. The Persian lifters clinched the championship with a total of eight gold medals, 6 silvers, and one bronze medal and 577 points.
