Deputy Minister of Finance leaves for Washington DC
(KPL) Deputy Minister of Finance, Mrs Veingthong Siphandone and her delegation on 7 October left here for the 2008 meeting of International Monetary Fund and World Bank, which scheduled on 8 to 17 October in Washington DC.
This meeting takes turn to organize different countries that the global finance situation and the previous and future plans of Word Bank were reported at the event.
The economy of Laos was also affected by current crisis finance and economy, the weak of US dollar currency and higher oil price and foods.
Laos is a member country of the World Bank so each year Laos will attend and report the general circumstances of economy and finance, the implementation of financial assistance projects both grant aid and loan from friendly countries.
Seeing off ceremony was attended by Deputy Head of Finance Department, Head of Ministry of Finance’s Office and country representative of World Bank in Laos.
