“Playhouse” wins four awards at Intl. University Theater Festival

TEHRAN,May 22(MNA) -- The play “Qiaseddin Ma’al-Fareq Playhouse” won four awards at the 15th International University Theater Festival in Tehran on Sunday. The play won awards for best director, best playwright, best costume designer and best actress in the theatrical-student section at the closing ceremony of the festival, which was held at the City Theater Complex. Best director and best playwright awards went to Seyyed Mohammad Mosavat, while Elaheh Farazmandi received the best actress award and Gholamreza Safarzadeh won the best costume designer award. Shahruz Delafkar won the best actor award for his role in “Winter, Spring” and the best stage designer award went to Hossein Noshir for “Macbeth” in the theatrical student section. Awards were presented to casts and crews of five plays in the non-theatrical student section. Seyyed Mojtaba Jeddi won the best director award for “Trembling Fortune, Ill-Fated Folks” in this category. The best actress award went to Maryam Nurmohammadi for her role in “Sketch” and Mozaffar Aminzafar won the best actor award for “Wooden Soldiers”. The best stage designer award went to Sara Karimian-Eqbal for “Road” and Neda Hosseinpur won best costume designer award for “Iran Hotel”. The festival was held from May 13 to 20 in different halls in Tehran.
